The Society completes its National Missioner appointment

Posted on the 3rd Apr 2022 in the category Announcements

The Society is delighted to announce that the second half of its National Missioner role is going to be undertaken by Fr Chris Brading SSC. Fr Chris will work alongside the existing Missioner, Fr David D'Silva, in this important role. Both Fr Chris and Fr David will be serving as part-time parish priests alongside being part-time Missioner. Fr Chris has been the parish priest of St Richard, Haywards Heath for the last five years and will be moving within the Diocese of Chichester to become the parish priest of St Mary Our Lady, Sidlesham in the summer.

Bishop Will Hazlewood, The Society's lead on mission, commented: "I'm thrilled that Fr Chris has discerned a call to work alongside Fr David in this new role, which we are discovering carries with it lots of possibilities and ideas for our movement. We're particularly pleased with how well the Catholic Mission Network is developing, harnessing not only the resources contained in Fr James Mallon's book Divine Renovation but also the wisdom and experience of our parish priests."

Fr Chris commented: "I'm excited at the prospect of this next stage in my ordained ministry. I look forward to utilising my skills and expertise in marketing and communications to support mission and evangelism in Society parishes."

The Society records its gratitude to the Archbishops' Council for funding this new initiative.
