Bishop Lindsay Urwin accepts a new challenge in Australia

Bishop Lindsay Urwin OGS, Administrator of the Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham has announced today, 12 April 2015, that he has accepted an invitation from the Archbishop of Melbourne to return to his homeland to be Incumbent of Christ Church Brunswick and the bishop responsible for work with Anglican Schools in the Diocese.

Bishop Tony Robinson, the Chairman of the Council of Bishops, commented: “There is no doubt that Bishop Lindsay has played a very significant part in the catholic life of the Church of England over the past thirty years or so. Since his Consecration as Bishop of Horsham at the age of 37 in 1993 he has been involved in many different ways in helping our part of the church to grow in confidence. Many people will remember the Caister Retreats for clergy and lay people from 1996 to 2008. Since 2009 he has welcomed so many of us as Pilgrims to Walsingham. He will be greatly missed."
